Role Details

We are on the lookout for a talented Front End Engineer to play a pivotal role in steering the evolution of our systems. As a Front End Developer, you will collaborate closely with our engineering team to construct and maintain our internal Content Management System (CMS), a critical component managing live events for Paramount+. This role places you at the forefront of delivering high-performance solutions to cater to the demands of our rapidly expanding platform.

Responsibilities

" Building and maintaining scalable and robust frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and other modern JavaScript technologies.

" Work with designers, product owners and stakeholders to define and validate visual requirements, user workflow and UI prototypes.

" Work with UI engineers to maintain, evolve and modernize our existing video encoding platforms.

" Developing reusable, efficient, and accessible UI components according to design specifications.

" Working with GraphQL or REST APIs for integration with backend services.

" Actively influence future innovations by following the latest and most efficient UI technology trends.

" Advocate culture of collaboration and teamwork between engineers.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team: You have

" JavaScript / ES6 / TypeScript: Strong understanding of fundamental JavaScript concepts, extensive knowledge of ES6, as well as familiarity with TypeScript and understanding of its benefits and use cases.

" Familiar with CSS, CSS pre-processors like SASS / LESS, and Frameworks such as Bootstrap or Material-UI.

" Understanding of modern front-end build pipelines and tools.

" Familiar with GraphQL/NodeJS, RESTful API and understanding of modern front-end build pipelines and tools.

" Experience with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks.

" Performance Optimization: Ability to optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.

" Accessibility and Testing: Awareness about accessible front-end design and user testing. Knowledge of testing libraries (like Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library) c

" Communication Skills: Ability to work in a team, understand specifications, and communicate problems clearly.

" Familiar with technical writing and design documentation.

" Familiar with container technology and management such as Docker and Kubernetes.
