Product Compliance Engineer


You are driving certification work for the monitoring, support and adaptation of existing certifications as well as new approvals on low voltage switchgear and automation products. With your expertise, you will also support and advise employees on standardization requirements on various certification bodies. You also serve as interface to the relevant certification bodies and participate in cross-functional projects. You enjoy working in global teams and with international standards and regulations.


Your Main Tasks


  • Ensure completion of product development compliance deliverables associated with IEC/EN, IECEE CB Scheme, UL/CSA standards and their derivates as well as environmental regulations, including compliance assessment, design review, certification and test plan creation, documentation and process implementation for new product development introductions.
  • Serving as the primary product compliance interface with domestic and third-party safety agencies (such as DEKRA, TUV, UL, CSA, etc.), marine agencies and also HazLoc environment.
  • Participating in / lead cross-functional projects to enact changes to products and processes to ensure compliance to new or changed product safety certification requirements and product environmental regulations.
  • Working with internal organization to monitor and analyze regulatory trends and positions and share information with impacted business groups.
  • Supporting Strategic Sourcing and Rockwell Automation suppliers to ensure that the supply chain is positioned and responsive to support Rockwell Automation compliance programs.


Your Profile


  • BS degree in Electrical/Electronics, Industrial or Computer Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in the application of basic engineering and manufacturing principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Two years’ experience in Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization, preferably in an electronics manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively through all levels in the organization. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required with very good English/German knowledge.
  • Demonstrate ability to frame and manage effectively, and with high quality, a large quantity of ambiguous or complex work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. LSS and/or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience in new product development processes is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools and SAP round off the profile.
