Your core responsibility is to manage the team of MySQL HeatWave Solution Engineers, who help the customers understand their business problems, discover their environments, and then suggest technology solutions using MySQL HeatWave services in Oracle’s Cloud. You will have opportunities to engage with a variety of customers from all sectors and industries (e.g. retail, banking, healthcare, energy, automotive, government and many others). To remain at the cutting edge of innovation, the organization will provide significant investment in your professional development via training, mentoring and a social network of resources and thought leaders inside Oracle. It is also expected that you are a self-starter and have a passion for learning new subjects on your own and then help evangelize those learning with your peers and community.

The ideal candidate’s profile is one who has a blend of leadership and technical skills with a business minded approach. You are expected to work directly with some of the largest enterprise customers and cutting-edge start-ups, along with collaborating with members of the various sales teams in Oracle.

Key activities include:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and management to the team of Sales Consultants /Solution Engineers
  • Work closely across Oracle internal Lines of Business such as Oracle presales, product development, sales and marketing
  • Lead the team performing proof of concepts, benchmarks or technical evaluations with clients
  • Delivering product presentations, hands-on technical workshops
  • Reporting on business activities
  • Implementing and scaling programs designed to improve customer success
  • Develop and maintain communication with key project collaborators and decision makers


What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading consulting and/or presales teams
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related degree.
  • Strong software engineering and project management fundamentals
  • Experience with 2 or more scripting languages (Python, C#, Java, C++, etc.)
  • Experience with 2 database systems (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, etc)
  • Confident communicator with ability to collaborate and present concepts clearly
  • Driven self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, open to new ideas and challenges
  • Strategic thinker with ability to build rapport easily with customers and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to balance several competing priorities at once


Bonus Points:

  • Hands on experience with Cloud Services (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with Cloud Native technologies such as container deployments, streaming, monitoring
  • Hands on experience with data analytics and data science techniques
  • Experience and/or training in project management (PMP Certification, CAPM Certification, etc.)

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing resources that work with customers, sales, engineering, and product teams to design and implement cloud solutions for customers. Establishes business objectives, metrics, and plans to ensure attainment. Executes on strategy, provides guidance, direction and specialist knowledge on Oracle cloud solutions and technology. Manages the implementation of solutions, ensures successful deployments and provides direction on code development and scripting. Oversees the support of customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services, resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. May deliver presentation demonstrations to high level customers and at conferences and events. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
