What You'll Do
You will be part of the team that is optimizing the quality-of-experience (QoE) delivered to our customers via our global satellite network. We develop services that assess QoE and that automate the allocation of network resources to optimize QoE outcomes.
By accurately assessing customer experience with high time fidelity, we can then improve optimize customer experience and capacity allocations.
The day-to-day
As an intern, you will collaborate with our team to develop ML models that estimate the speed an airline passenger would get at any point during a flight if they were to run a speed test, given a time series of network measurements for the shared Wi-Fi service.
What You'll Need
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field; preferably a last semester ML engineering candidate or 2nd+ year PhD computer science candidate
- Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics
- Strong ML and analytics skills
- Ability to work with large data sets
- Programming skills: Strong programming skills in a language like Python that can be used for data cleaning, preparation, and modeling are needed
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 week summer internship
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn: You should be continuously seeking to learn about new techniques, trends, and technologies in machine learning and data science
- Effective communications with different stakeholders, including business leaders, domain experts, and software developers
- Collaborative working approach that embraces a cross-functional team distributed across multiple time zones
$21 - $66 / hourly
