We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Agency Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on commission-related accounting functions and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of monthly commission payments and reporting. What does an AGENCY ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST at GAINSCO?
Audit and Validation:
- Daily posting of transactions, including payments, refunds, NSF transactions, billing adjustments, transfers, EFT changes, fee reversals, and processing exception reports.
- Provide training to other A/R staff on transaction processing to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve calculations related to commission statements.
- Provide support to agents and the field operations team by assisting with monthly commission explanations and understanding.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience or insurance agency accounting experience.
- Prior experience working with and analyzing commission statements for accuracy and discrepancies
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience required.
- Prior insurance industry experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics, analysis, and commission calculations.
- Strong experience with Excel, Power BI, and experience with large datasets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
