Description

We are looking for a Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting VoIP systems, providing technical support for our national voice services platform, and handling various customer service responsibilities. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an escalation point for field agents with VoIP related dispatches and trouble tickets Monitor network devices and interfaces, providing continuous monitoring for problems impacting customers' voice services
  • Troubleshoot issues with our voice services and update call paths
  • Respond to incoming calls and emails regarding service troubles or call path changes in a prompt and detail oriented manner
  • Coordinate the proper installation and configuration of voice service components
  • Contact carriers and vendors to open new trouble tickets, schedule dispatches, and stay informed about existing trouble tickets
  • Maintain active communication with customers, on-site technicians, and carrier service providers
  • Work directly with our Technical Support Engineers and VoIP Engineers to support and troubleshoot our voice platforms
  • Ensure all tickets and jobs are handled quickly and accurately from start to finish
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of one year experience in a telecommunications role

Proficiency in Cisco Voice Over Internet (VoIP) and other VoIP systems

Knowledge of IP Telephony and Telephony Systems

Experience with Network Operation Center operations

Ability to perform basic troubleshooting in a telecommunications setting

Familiarity with ISDN and SIP protocols

Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer service issues

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Willingness to stay updated on new technologies and trends in the telecommunications industry

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
