What You'll Be Doing

The primary purpose of the role is to maintain and create the design of the digital user experience and user interface for ACE (Arriva Customer Engine). ACE is the digital retail platform within Arriva UK Trains, selling products for multiple Arriva businesses across apps, mobile and desktop.

The role is pivotal in delivering a digital experience with usability for our customers at its core - ensuring simplicity of use and efficiency of interaction, and what Arriva expects from the retail platform.

This role is a key member of the IT & Digital Team, reporting to the ACE Product Manager, Arriva UK Trains.

The role will be based in our London Office (Holborn) with hybrid working between home and office. Travel to other Arriva office locations nationally will be required occasionally.

You will

• Set the standard for UX and UI digital design for ACE.
• Manage all UX and UI design relating to changes on the ACE platform, which could be minor improvements or major strategic projects
• Work with ACE Product team to deliver the best retail experience and articulate user needs
• Work with development team to bring designs to life
• Work with our digital engineering partner to deliver the designs delivered
• Use customer research to support designs and future requirements for ACE
• Map user/customer journeys and pain points to ensure we are designing to meet those needs
• Ensure all design meets minimum accessibility standards
• Present stages of design to business and stakeholders
• Conduct usability tests where necessary to support change
• Ensure ongoing design benchmarks well against the competition
• Create mock ups for presentation to stakeholders and for future bidding
• Be an integral part of an experienced product team focused on continuous improvement, innovation and high-quality
  
  

You'll have

• Commercial experience working as a User Experience designer or similar role
• Can demonstrate work on complex desktop, mobile and app applications
• Has experience of conducting usability tests, both remotely and in-person
• High attention to detail in designing and presenting work
• Must demonstrate the ability to multitask, think analytically and problem solve
• Must demonstrate a diligent & organised approach
• Must take responsibility for their own work and standards
• Must possess good communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of public transport markets would be beneficial
