Help Desk | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking to fill a Help Desk position for a healthcare client located remotely. This is a contract position.

Start Date: ASAP

WAGE TYPE: W2

Job Description

  • Establishes policies, processes, and systems for implementing a quality incident management process
  • Monitors trends in incidents and issues
  • Influences department strategy
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues for project components, working without direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches
  • Observability:
    • Analyze established monitoring tools to discern system health of critical business systems
    • Review recent Incident ticket data
  • Incident Response:
    • Serve as the initial contact for all Humana Military system impacting events
    • Quickly identify the source of the issue and engage appropriate support and engineering teams
  • Incident Engagement:
    • Remain engaged throughout the service impacting event, ensuring support teams have access to necessary resources
    • Page out to other supporting teams as necessary
  • Communication:
    • Update and maintain internal website during outages to keep teams informed
    • Send email communications to key stakeholders and executive team at discovery, periodic intervals, and upon restoration
Job Requirements

  • Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills enabling sound decision-making
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation essential; a confident change-agent
  • Strong presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to remove barriers for staff to set up for success
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • U.S. citizenship required for Department of Defense contract
