The Platform Associate’s primary responsibility is to facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration within the journals department. This role collaborates with Editorial, Operations, and ASM enterprise teams to enhance the user experience on our publishing platform. This involves monitoring platform performance, assessing current features, and identifying improvement opportunities that serve user needs and meet strategic business goals.

Essential Functions (defines the critical end results expected of the jobholder related to the accountabilities above)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain project roadmaps, ensuring alignment with department and society strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Works with Publishing UX & Content Strategist, the Publishing UX and Analytics Director, and the Publishing Operations Director to translate business requirements into technical specifications, designing experiments, analyzing performance of experiments according to success criteria and iterating based on data received.
  • Leverage and contribute to user research to ensure that we continuously improve the user experience on the platform.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of SEO strategies to improve platform visibility and drive organic traffic.
  • Coordinates regular operations of the website and/or web pages according to a content calendar to ensure the website is updated with latest content and program information.
  • Coordinates editorial content with staff and keeps content up to date.
  • Ensures that staff have all of the tools and training they need to fully leverage the capability of the platform (e.g., web page templates and edits, collection creation and management, create and manage documentation, etc.).

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role and may sit or use PC for long periods of time. Bending, reaching, or stooping may be necessary for use of filing cabinets or other office cabinets or office machines. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel Requirements

Expected travel to meet with customers and ASM and related industry conferences.
