The Cloud Marketing Data, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and Digital Applications organization at Microsoft leads commercial marketing efforts across our Data, AI and Digital Applications solutions. We are seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Azure Maps to drive global value proposition development and go to market strategies to focus on driving adoption of Microsoft’s Enterprise Mapping API product – Azure Maps.

In this role, you will work across marketing, engineering, sales, and partners to ensure the right investments are made in our products and business strategies and that we mobilize our marketing engines and sales channels to deliver business results. This is a highly visible role in a here-and-now hot space that will require working closely with internal stakeholders, engineering, content SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), integrated marketing, area PMMs (Product Marketing Managers), account teams, technology specialist teams and partners to define, deliver, and streamline product content, marketing and communications.

A successful candidate for this role will have experience in product strategy and demonstrated experience in structuring marketing plans, product planning, and content development. You should be comfortable in a start-up environment, ready to take on multiple responsibilities, and adept at conceptualizing and achieving ambitious goals. A proficient understanding of cloud technology, the analytics and governance market, effective communication skills, and bias for action are critical for success in this role. This candidate should be obsessed with outside-in view of customer experience with both strategic and execution marketing chops.

Responsibilities

  • Define the core value proposition for Microsoft’s Enterprise mapping API products.
  • Ensure that value proposition shows up across the myriad of marketing and sales assets required to go to market.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to make sure our messages are tightly integrated.
  • Partner with engineering to make the right technology investments and package those offerings through impactful go to market strategies.
  • Build a robust model for customer listening posts, ensuring that our offering is continually delivering against customer requirements.
  • Act as the product marketing functional lead for the business’s global go to market strategy and process. Understand performance and make sound business judgements for strategic investments and adjustments to plans.
  • Collaborate with business planning on any required changes to packaging and business strategy.
  • The candidate should demonstrate curiosity and the ability to learn about new industries, it’s trends and competitive space. The candidate will have to demonstrate or acquire knowledge about the mapping industry and geospatial and location based services solutions.
  • The candidate should perform in a product marketing function based on previous experience or relatable competencies, such as strategic thinking, storytelling, planning and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of the mapping ecosystem is especially helpful.
  • Ability to develop a point of view and a corresponding plan to land that point of view across multiple organizations. This includes effective communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to lead v-teams toward a common objective.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in product marketing management
    • OR Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in product marketing management
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing management preferably in mapping and/or API marketing
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in in product marketing management preferably in mapping and/or API marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in location based services and GIS (Geographic Information Services)
  • Experience in business to business marketing
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
