PURPOSEThe Carrier Billing Specialist I will be responsible for processing, researching, and auditing carrier and customer invoices using our proprietary accounting software. This individual is responsible for ensuring all daily required tasks are completed in accordance with dept policy and procedure guidelines as well as any additional customer-specific SOPs. Additionally, the Carrier Billing Specialist I will assist with customer rejected invoices, general ledger coding, and customer and carrier system rule creation. This individual will also conduct regular reporting using Microsoft Excel to assess the unbilled invoices for a customer’s account.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process invoices within Carrier Payment queues
- Coordinate internally with team members and interdepartmentally to meet/exceed departmental requirements
- Communicate with internal staff, operations managers, and external carriers to ensure proper invoice resolution
- Investigate problems applicable to potential system issues and report to management
- Provide phone support to operations, customers, and carriers
- Assist with addressing standard requests submitted to the department email
- Identify and incorporate opportunities for process improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within logistics industry preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
