Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Web Software Developer to join our team! In this role you will get to leverage your skills in support of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Tuberculosis elimination mission.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support development, enhancement, and maintenance of intranet and internet websites and creation and updating of web pages which meet CDC guidelines and use Web best practices.
  • Support development of regular website statistic reports and provide guidance on approaches to improve website usage metrics.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint sites and utilize best practices for integrating SharePoint into internal websites.
  • Support the development, implementation, and analysis of baseline and post implementation Web usability studies; provide recommendations and plans to update the Internet and/or Intranet sites as needed.
  • Format and code content and graphics for social media platforms, including adding tracking code and running statistics to evaluate end users’ activity.
  • Support surveillance activities including the maintenance, development, and support of the National TB Surveillance System, the National TB Indicators Project, the TB Genotyping Information Management System, and the National Tuberculosis Latent Infection Sentinel Surveillance.
  • Support research activities including development, enhancement and maintenance of a user-friendly and intuitive web-based study data and operations management system.


What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • At least 8 years of combined higher education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of web development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular. Experience with server-side languages like PHP, Ruby or Python and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal.
  • Skills in database design and management using SQL-based databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with database integration into web applications.
  • Ability to design user-friendly interfaces that are accessible to a diverse audience including healthcare professionals and the general public. Knowledge of best practices in web accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Understanding of web security practices to protect sensitive health data related to TB surveillance activities and clinical trials consortium support; experience implementing secure authentication methods, encryption techniques, and compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., HIPAA).


What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Experience working with CDC
  • Basic understanding of public health principles related to infectious diseases like tuberculosis; familiarity with the objectives of TB surveillance activities and clinical trials can inform more effective web solutions tailored towards these goals.
  • Familiarity with deploying applications on cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure can be advantageous for scalable web solutions catering to large datasets typical in surveillance activities/trials consortium work.

Salary Range

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
