We're looking for an experienced legal professional to join this dynamic data analytics business. Youll be a talented and motivated Contracts Manager who will own the drafting, administration, and negotiation of commercial contracts with a SaaS business.

Contracts Manager, SaaS Company, Maternity Cover (8 months), Remote, 4days/wk, up to £90k FTE* (DoE)

The Company

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS business building technology to power every creative decision with data. Their tools and data applications help some of the worlds biggest brands, including Unilever, Google, Heineken, and more, to measure the quality of their content.

The Role

In this role, you will review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts. You will also partner with wide-ranging stakeholders to provide day-to-day contracting advice, implement process improvements, and much more.
  • Manage, structure, draft and negotiate a full range of contractual agreements for the company, including but not limited to client SOWs, MSAs, NDAs, DPAs as well as supplier agreements.
  • Provide practical advice re risk allocation & issues of contractual interpretation.
  • Actively participate in client calls and continuously support the company's sales team in negotiating agreements in line with the company's positions.
  • Manage contracts database.
  • Maintain an up-to-date repository of the ongoing tasks they are managing.
  • Support ad-hoc projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the preparation, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, especially customer contracts.
  • Provide support to the company on all contractual matters.
  • Lead the design, drafting, implementation of companys standard templates.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (e.g. Sales and Finance) and external legal counsel to structure appropriate commercial frameworks.
  • Assist on companys compliance with relevant legislation and regulation.
  • Collaborate on maintaining best practice and working processes.

The Candidate

Essential
  • Significant legal contracts manager experience, preferably in an in-house technology company.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating SaaS contracts - substantive experience as lead/senior drafter and negotiator of SaaS contracts.
  • Strong legal and commercial acumen, and a good understanding of contractual principles.
  • Diligent, well organised and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Experience working closely with senior management and across customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to confidently deal with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation for the technology contracts (such as GDPR, emerging AI laws and regulations).
  • Common sense, great judgement, and a good sense of humour.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability, results driven.
  • True multitasker, able to balance and prioritise workload demands.
  • Excellent relationship skills, well-mannered and a constructive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, flexible in approach, enthusiastic team player.
  • Strong rapport and relationship building skills with customers and suppliers.

Desirable
  • A qualifying law degree
  • Knowledge of US Commercial Law an advantage

The Terms
  • This is a maternity cover contract for c 8 months.
  • up to £90k FTE* (pro-rated for part-time hours and contract length). Dependent on Experience.
  • 4 days per week.
  • Worked remotely (possibility of occasional meet in London- not essential)
  • 5 weeks holiday (plus Bank Holidays) pro-rata.
  • Pension.
  • Start date ideally by 1st July 2024.
