What will the Lead Software Development Engineer in Test do?


You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will help our CFO Act federal customer automate and test before deployment an Identity Management System (IDMS) and a Credential Management System (CMS). The Lead SDET position is responsible for assuring product quality, functionality, and security. This includes test planning and design, preparing test execution, conducting tests, and tracking/reporting identified issues in alignment with all applicable standards and requirements.


Note: This position may require on-site work in Reston, VA on a periodic basis. We are seeking a candidate within a 50 mile driving distance.


What does a typical day look like for the Lead Software Development Engineer in Test?


Although no two days will be the same, you will:


  • Work closely with CertiPath project team members to define and apply best-in-class, scalable processes for developing and maintaining the test automation suite in support of the IDMS and CMS product roadmaps
  • Take corrective action when needed to ensure the success of our client project scopes and guide efforts to the best solutions and outcomes
  • Work with CertiPath project leadership to ensure that test plans effectively align with feature requirements
  • Participate in Sprint Planning ceremonies to understand Sprint Goals and the scope of committed Stories and support Quality team members during the Sprints


What does the growth potential look like for this position?


  • The Lead SDET role may lead to a Lead or Manager role. With enough company growth, the potential is limitless.


What qualifications do you look for?


You might be the Lead SDET we’re looking for if you have:


  • U.S. Citizenship and a minimum government clearance of Public Trust
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 7+ years of experience working with project management, product owners, and development teams as part of a Quality Assurance team in an Agile environment
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or in a similar quality control/test automation engineer position
  • 5+ years of experience developing automation tests using C# or Java in Selenium
  • Previous experience working on federal client engagements
  • Experience building and designing test cases; designing and developing automation frameworks; and building, enhancing, and maintaining automated test infrastructure and automation harnesses
  • Hands-on experience with writing automating test code and utilizing industry standards tools and frameworks that can simulate complex multi-system scenarios
  • Experience using the following tools:
  • Jira for test case design and execution
  • Selenium Web Driver for web browser automation
  • Rest Assured for REST API automation
  • GraphQL for database automation
  • Familiarity with the following core technologies: .NET Core and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience with writing automating test code and utilizing industry standards tools and frameworks that can simulate complex multi-system scenarios , GraphQL queries, and Postman
  • Significant coding experience with automated testing frameworks using TestNG or similar tools


We’re extra impressed by folks with:

  • Experience working with Identity Management Systems and/or Credential Management Systems
  • Experience working with secure SDLC technologies and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Advanced certifications in Agile methodologies, systems design and architecture, or information security
