Senior Legal Counsel – Employment Law (Pharmaceuticals)

Location: Remote in Switzerland

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for a multinational pharmaceutical company in Switzerland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing daily legal advice to the HR department on various employment matters and also assist in international projects, such as M&A transactions. Moreover, the Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal support to business executives and functional leaders on various global initiatives and collaborate closely with the Head of Legal.

Key tasks/responsibilities:

• Advise the HR department on a wide range of employment matters such as performance management, conduct management, termination and discipline, and compensation and benefits issues
• Provide assistance in litigation related to employment matters and collaborate with the HR department and external counsel
• Assist in developing and maintaining employment contracts, policies, templates, and processes
• Offer guidance and support for various global and international projects, including mergers and acquisitions, and initiatives for managing risks across the organization
• Deliver legal updates and provide training to HR and business managers

Experience & Qualifications:

• University degree in law; bar experience is considered a plus
• A specialist in employment law with a minimum of 10 years' experience, ideally having practiced employment law across multiple jurisdictions
• Thorough understanding of European legal systems, including civil and common law
• Excellent drafting skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
• Fluent in English, written and verbal; German is a plus
• Highly organized and efficient with the ability to drive projects and deliver against set timelines
